Our series of post’s, “Back To The Basics” is exactly what it say’s, basic. Because most of us don’t have Bobby Flay’s expertise in cooking, we have decided to include a number of basic recipes that are not only delicious but easy to make. This chili is awesome and is very easy to whip up with a minimal amount of ingredients. We have rated this dish a “Two Chile” heat level, but you can make it as spicy as you want with more cayenne pepper (or replace cayenne with habenero powder). Enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 Large Onions, chopped
5-6 Cloves Garlic, minced
2 Green Peppers, chopped
2-3 Lbs. Ground Beef, browned and drained
2 14-Ounce Cans Red, White, or Black Beans, drained and rinsed
1 14-Ounce Can Diced Tomatoes
2 Jalapenos, seeded and minced
1 Tbsp. Cumin
1 Tsp. Cayenne Pepper
1/2 Cup Beef Broth
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a large pot.
2. Cover and cook for 4-5 hours, stirring occasionally
3. Enjoy!
